BIG, little Lies

BIG, little Lies – You hear this term so often nowadays.

So what exactly are Big little lies? Well to be honest I think they are both pretty much the same in that lies are lies. The only thing that changes is the damage each type of lie creates. Does that make sense?

To demonstrate my point you may have seen the program recently advertised on billboards starring Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and Shailene Woodley.

The program series is about three wives living in an idyllic town setting with their families. One critic wrote about the program,”Observe as a warm smile carves its way across their smug face, they really believe the world is a good place. Bless them. And then the critic goes on to boast how watching their world fall apart is great entertainment.

What kind of world do these critics live in? What makes them choose to think trouble and strife in peoples lives is entertaining. No wonder anti-depressant medication is on the increase. Isn’t it about time we unite and send a clear message to these actors and producers and tell them, “Enough is enough. You are no longer prepared to listen and watch their versions of the world.” When you can do this and strive for a world you want to live in then together we can create a better world to live in.

To further demonstrate how our world is affected by others, you only need look at the recent 2017 budget to determine that even politicians who we are supposed to rely on can and do go back on their word, bend the truth and manipulate their own pledges, phrases and statements to suit their own needs wants and desires.

So what has this got to do with you? Well apart from the fact that you may be affected by either the doom and gloom nature of TV or the intended NIC increases and other fiscal policies, you may also allow yourself to be infiltrated and affected by other peoples behaviour and actions. Which may in turn create situations for yourself which are on helpful. Does that resonate with you?

For instance you could wake up in the morning and give yourself the following messages:

 

  • You are going to have a bad day,
  • The traffic is bad,
  • Your train is going to be delayed,
  • Your boss is going to shouts at you,
  • You’re never going to be able to get through all your work load today,
  • You’re going to be late for work,
  • Your partner husband or wife is going to make you unhappy,
  • Your child/children are difficult,

 

Do any of these messages sound familiar?

You see any one of the above issues, challenges or problems could be considered a lie if you so wish. The problem of course is you may not know the strategies that available to to you that you can use to overcome these negative vibes. I’ve learnt that if you tell yourself bad things are going to happen to you then eventually they become true. Wouldn’t it be better when you wake up in the morning to feel amazing? Well you can.

You simply need to say to yourself:

 

  • It’s an amazing day,
  • You’re so happy with your life,
  • Your partner husband/wife are fantastic,
  • Your children are amazing,
  • You love your job,
  • Your boss is really caring,

 

Do you get the picture? So now that you have a feel for this read these positive affirmations again repeatedly and then witness how your state/emotions change for the better.
